Hartpury Village Hall is thrilled to have been chosen to host one of only two exclusive preview performances of Mrs Lowry and Son by the Everyman Theatre’s professional company on Saturday 2 October, before it transfers to the Everyman’s studio theatre in Cheltenham the following week. The play tells the story of one of the 20th century’s most popular artists, L.S.Lowry, who lived for many years in Salford with his bedridden mother, working as a rent collector by day and painting in his attic by night. Martin Hesford’s play – which was also made into a film starring Timothy Spall and Vanessa Redgrave – tells the story of the moving, humorous and absorbing relationship between Lowry and his beloved mother.
Tickets can be purchased from Eventbrite via this link. The performance starts at 7.30 pm. The play will be performed “traverse style” in the hall itself rather than on the stage, and as a result there will be a reduced capacity so early booking is advised.
