Re-opening Soon

Re-opening the Hall

We are hoping to be able to re-open the hall on 12 April, which is the earliest date specified for community centres according to the government’s roadmap for exiting the lockdown. However there are a number of significant constraints on what sort of activities may be able to take place at the hall with effect from that date, and we will only be able to accept bookings for the following categories of activity during this initial period:

  • Funerals with up to 30 people
  • Wakes and weddings with up to 15 people
  • Children’s activities including dance classes and musical activities BUT EXCLUDING children’s parties
  • Parent and child groups with up to 15 attending plus under-fives

The social contact rules will continue to apply, meaning that social distancing must be maintained and no social mixing from people from different households or support bubbles.

The following stage, Step 3 on the roadmap, is planned for no earlier than 17 May, at which stage “controlled indoor events” will be able to take place at 50% capacity, and a range of additional activities including sports and exercise classes can be allowed. However the “rule of 6” will continue to apply to social mixing at indoor events, and this may effectively preclude events such as children’s parties. Nevertheless we are hoping that a number of regular activities and classes will be able to resume at this stage of the roadmap, subject to risk assessments and ongoing observance of COVID protocols. We will continue to monitor the situation and take advice from the Gloucestershire Rural Communities Council as more information becomes available.

Step 4, which is planned for no earlier than 21 June, will see the removal of the limits on social contact and at that stage we hope to be able to accept bookings without any ongoing COVID restrictions.

We will be monitoring and updating our various protocols and risk assessments on a regular basis during the coming months and we will update the information on the website whenever any changes are made. In the meantime please get in touch with us if you have any queries concerning future bookings.
