Our Charitable Trust Deed

Hartpury Village Hall is a registered charity operating within the terms of a Trust Deed which dates from 1960. We have recently agreed a number of amendments which have been approved by the Charity Commission, as a result of which we now have two separate documents which together comprise our formal “governing documents”. Details of our charitable status can be accessed on the Charity Commission’s website.

The main changes relate to the process for appointing trustees, including updating the details of nominating organisations – this was overdue, not least because a number of organisations referenced in the original Trust Deed no longer exist. We have also taken the opportunity to make the document gender-neutral, and clarified the definition of who is eligible to vote at our AGM (i.e. all inhabitants of Hartpury Parish aged 18 or over).

A copy of the updated governing document is available here.
